Chorten Stupa- SIGHTSEEING
Chorten Stupa, Which is also known as Dro-dul Chorten is in Gangtok . The stupa was built by Trulshik Rinpoche, in 1945. Inside this stupa, a complete set of Dorjee Phurba, Kangyur relics (Holy Books) and other religious objects are there. There are around 108 prayer wheels around the stupa. This chorten is regarded as one of the most important chortens of Sikkim. There are several other small stupas around the main one.

Flower Exhibition Centre- SIGHTSEEING
Flower Exhibition Center which holds the annual Orchid show. Inside the area is not very large but it has amazing collections of flowers of many different types, If you are a flower lover, then this is the place for you.

Tsomgo lake- SIGHTSEEING
Tsomgo Lake, also known Changu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district, some 40 kms from the capital Gangtok. Located at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft), the lake remains frozen during the winter season. The lake surface reflects different colors with change of seasons and is held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese people. Buddhist monks prognosticate after studying the changing colors of the lake.

Baba Mandir- SIGHTSEEING
Major "Baba" Harbhajan Singh was an Indian army soldier. He is revered as the "Hero of Nathula" by soldiers of the Indian army, who built a shrine in his honor. He was accorded the status of saint by believers who refer to him as the "Baba" (saintly father).Many who come here leave a bottle of drinking water which they arrange to collect a few days later. It is believed that one can fulfill one's wishes by drinking that water. Although this temple is on a roadside, it is surrounded by mountains from all sides and the views all around is magnificent.

Gangtok – Lachen (107 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast check out from hotel with limited luggage and proceed to Lachen (8,500 ft.), North Sikkim. On the way take a break for some beautiful spots which are worth seeing and visiting like Naga Waterfall, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) & Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachen check into your hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at Lachen.

Naga Waterfall- SIGHTSEEING
You will encounter this awesome water fall enroute to Lachung. It is a popular spot to stop and take a break for pictures and enjoy the Himalayan mountain range view. Views from here are amazing and waterfall itself is very refreshing.

Bhim Nala Waterfall- SIGHTSEEING
Naga waterfalls. Between Mangan and Chungthang is another waterfall called Naga. Bhim Nala waterfalls. This waterfall is on the way between Chungthang and Lachung. Situated just next to the road, it looks like a three stage waterfall.

Lachen – Chopta Valley – Gurudongmar Lake – Lachung

Gurudongmar Lake, is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at an altitude of 17,800 ft (5,430 m) in Sikkim. It is a lake with breathtaking scenery around, which is considered sacred by both Buddhists and Hindus. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. The lake has an area of 290 acres and its peripheral length is 5.34 kilometres. The area surrounding the lake also known as Gurudongmar, is inhabited by Yaks, blue sheep and other high altitude wildlife. Its a must visit place because of its spectacular views and magnificence.

An interesting feature of the lake is that leaves are not allowed to float on the lake, which is ensured by the birds which industriously pick them up as soon as they drop into the lake surface.

Kanchenjunga Falls- SIGHTSEEING
Being hidden due to thick forest cover, the Kanchenjunga falls were not known to people and remained untouched till the 90s. It only came into the limelight, when a local tour operator accidentally discovered it. It is believed that the pristine waterfall originates high up in the glaciers of Mount Kanchenjunga.

Pemayangtse Monastery- SIGHTSEEING
The unique feature of the monastery is that there is an intricately carved wooden structure located on the top floor displaying a heavenly sphere known as ‘Zangdokpalri’.

Rabdentse Ruins- SIGHTSEEING
Rabdentse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim. The old palace and monastery complex are in ruins, and now Archaeological Survey of India.

The Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre was started on October 2, 1959. Following the dramatic escape of His Holiness the Dalai Lama during that period of mayhem, thousands of our fellow countrymen, leaving hearth and home, fled into neighboring countries so they could live as free human beings. Tea planting in the Indian district of Darjeeling began in 1841 by Archibald Campbell, a civil surgeon of the Indian Medical Service. Campbell was transferred as superintendent of Darjeeling in 1839 from Kathmandu, Nepal. In 1841, he brought seeds of the Chinese tea plant (Camellia sinensis) from Kumaun and began to experiment with tea planting in Darjeeling.The British government also established tea nurseries during that period (1847).
